The agreement between you and Maktabi
Short version: the application is a tool you install and run yourself, the documents you produce with it are yours, your pupils’ data stays on your machine, and you remain the teacher who signs the work.
1. Who these terms are for
These terms apply to every teacher, trainer or institution that installs and uses the Maktabi desktop application, and to the account used to activate it. By installing the application or creating an account you accept them.
You must be at least eighteen years old, or use the application under the responsibility of the school that employs you.
2. What we give you
Maktabi grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the application for your own teaching work, for as long as your plan is active.
3. Your account and your devices
You are responsible for the email address and password used to open your account, and for the computers you authorize with it. Tell us quickly if you believe someone else is using your activation.
Authorizations are tied to a machine. If you change computer, release the old authorization from your account and activate the new one; the number of simultaneous machines is the one stated in your plan.
4. The free trial
The trial exists so you can judge the result on your own material before paying anything. It includes a fixed allowance of generation credits, one authorized computer and every export format, and it ends when the trial period or the allowance runs out, whichever comes first.
No card is required to start the trial, and it does not renew into a paid plan automatically.
5. Plans, credits and payment
Paid plans are sold for a fixed term in Algerian dinars. Prices shown on the pricing page include tax and nothing is added at checkout.
If a payment succeeds but the activation does not arrive, contact us with the payment reference and we will complete the activation or refund it.
6. Refunds
Because the trial lets you generate real documents before paying, paid terms are non-refundable once the activation has been used, except where the application cannot be made to work on a supported machine. In that case, contact us within fourteen days of the payment and we will refund the term.
7. Your files and your documents
Your course files, your class lists and the documents you generate belong to you. We do not claim any right over them, we do not host them, and we do not use them to train models.
You are responsible for having the right to use the material you place in your workspace, and for respecting the copyright of the manuals and resources you import.
8. The teacher stays responsible
Maktabi is designed to work from the official programme and from your own documents, and to stop and ask when something is missing rather than invent it. It is still a tool, and it can be wrong.
9. Acceptable use
10. Availability and changes
The application runs on your computer, so it keeps working while you have no connection, within the offline period stated in the application. Generation of new content requires the internet and depends on the availability of the generation gateway.
We improve the application continuously and may change or replace features. If a change materially reduces what your active plan included, we will tell you and offer a fair remedy for the remainder of the term.
11. Ending the agreement
You may stop using the application at any time and close your account. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, that shares activations, or that attempts to defeat the licence protections, after telling you why.
When a plan ends, the documents already generated stay on your computer and remain readable and editable in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Only new generation stops.
12. Liability
The application is provided as it is, with the guarantees required by Algerian law and no other. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the current term. We are not liable for indirect damages, for lost time, or for consequences of documents you published without reviewing them.
13. Law and contact
These terms are governed by Algerian law, and any dispute that cannot be settled amicably belongs to the competent Algerian courts.
For any question about these terms, about an invoice or about an activation, contact us and we will answer during the school week.
